See The PATTRNS Global Brand into a UK-Specific

Adapting See The PATTRNS from a global platform into a UK-specific brand experience required a complete rebuild of its design foundation. With missing files, assets originally created in Adobe XD, and an inconsistent design system, the project demanded both technical precision and creative problem-solving. I led the migration into Figma, reworked typography, and established a scalable design system while collaborating closely with UK cross-functional teams to ensure brand alignment and user-focused outcomes.

Project: See The PATTRns

Role: Senior UX designer

Software: Figma, Illustrator, Adobe XD

Problem

The See The PATTRNs website needed to transition from a global platform to a UK-specific brand presence. When I joined the project, I faced immediate challenges:

Challenges

  • Missing or incomplete design files

  • Assets originated in Adobe XD, while the team operated in Figma

  • Inconsistent design system and typography, making updates difficult

These obstacles made it impossible to simply iterate — the site had to be rebuilt from the ground up.

Process

To move the project forward, I migrated the entire design workflow into Figma and rebuilt the experience step by step:

  • Reworking Typography — established a clear, accessible typographic hierarchy to improve readability for healthcare audiences.

  • Building a Scalable Design System — created reusable components, color tokens, and layout grids to ensure consistency and speed of future updates.

  • Reconstructing Assets — recreated missing elements and redesigned layouts to meet the UK brand’s requirements.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration — partnered closely with UK-based teams across content, development, and brand to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with local needs.

Solution

The rebuild resulted in a fully Figma-based design system that provided:

  • Cohesive, UK-specific branding aligned with the global identity

  • Stronger visual hierarchy through redefined typography

  • Modular components for faster design and development cycles

  • A smoother workflow for designers, developers, and content teams

Outcomes

  • Consistency: Unified design system and visual language across the UK platform

  • Efficiency: Reduced turnaround time thanks to scalable components in Figma

  • Collaboration: Improved alignment between design, dev, and brand teams in the UK

  • Scalability: A strong foundation for future features and regional adjustments

Due to privacy reasons, I cannot share the detailed design process or internal files. The final product demonstrates the transformation and the value of rebuilding a fragmented system into a scalable, user-centered solution.
